Salt Cathedral and Andrés Carne de Res Tour (Shared tour)

A day that begins 180 metres underground and ends dancing.

In the morning we visit the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, carved inside a mountain of salt and regarded as the first wonder of Colombia. Afterwards there is time for lunch and a wander around the town square.

As evening falls we head to Andrés Carne de Res in Chía. It is hard to explain to anyone who has not been: an enormous restaurant decorated down to the last centimetre, where you eat, have a cocktail and dance for as long as your legs hold out. We have the booking made and we wait for you before heading back.

Schedule

• Tuesday to Sunday.

• We pick you up at your hotel and drop you off at the same place afterwards.

• Andrés Carne de Res is closed on Mondays.
• It closes at midnight on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays; at 2 am on Thursdays; and at 3 am on Fridays and Saturdays.
• Cover charge of 10,000 COP on Fridays, and 15,000 COP on Saturdays from 7 pm.
• Check the rate for Colombian residents before paying: it is different.

• Bogotá weather changes several times a day: bring a layer and sunscreen, even if the sky is grey when you set off.
• Comfortable closed shoes.
• A small umbrella or a light rain jacket.

• It is cool inside the cathedral: a light jacket helps.
